Permit Information

All persons using ISU parking facilities must have a valid parking permission. Physical permits no longer have to be displayed — your license plate now serves as your permit.

General Rules

• Permits must be obtained either through the Parking & Transportation office or in the Parking Portal. Permits may also be managed in the Parking Portal. 
• Every motor vehicle, motorcycle, boat, trailer, or camper parked on campus must be registered in the Parking Portal and linked to an active parking permission in order to be parked on campus. 

Registration Requirements

• Vehicle information (license plate, make and model) must be linked to every permit. Permits may not be sold without this information. 
  • Please ensure vehicle information is accurate, or a citation may be issued. 
• All past fines must be paid in full before a new parking permit may be issued. 
• A permit does not guarantee a personal parking space; parking is available only as space permits in authorized lots. 

License Plate Regulations

• Plates must not be falsified, duplicated, or altered. Doing so will be considered fraud and subject to fines.
• Vehicles issued a single license plate must park so the plate is clearly visible from the driving lane.
• Plates must not be obstructed by bike racks, covers, hitches, or other objects.

Transfers & Fees

• Permits may be transferred to another individual for a $10 administrative fee.
